Milton Keynes neighbourhood policing team working with partners to tackle retail crime |
||
|
Hello Resident, We are continuing to work with partners to tackle retail crime effectively. In the last 12 months, 12 November 2024 to 10 November 2025, shoplifting charges have increased by 57% compared to the previous 12 months in Milton Keynes. Retailers, police, and security experts came together yesterday at Midsummer Place Shopping Centre in Milton Keynes for the Fight Back Against Retail Crime event – an event designed to allow police to collaborate with partners to tackle retail crime. The event featured live demonstrations, expert talks, and collaborative workshops aimed at tackling the growing challenges of retail crime, including advice on practical crime prevention strategies, staff safety measures, and intelligence sharing. Building strong partnerships and empowering local retailers to take proactive steps in crime prevention is key to tackling retail crime together. It’s Safer Business Action Week, but it doesn't stop here. We are committed to making your local shops and town centres safer. Shoplifting is a criminal offence, and those caught will be arrested.
